A Rhode Island man was killed in a two car crash on Route 28 in Somerville early Tuesday morning. Massachusetts State Police troopers responded to the crash at the intersection of Route 28 and Mystic Avenue at about 4:35 a.m.

 

One driver from Boston was operating a 2002 Suburban. He was transported to an area hospital with reportedly minor injuries. Enrique Rivera, 67, of Central Falls, R.I., was driving the other vehicle, a 1995 VW Jetta. He was transported to Mass. General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His passenger, also from Rhode Island was traveling with Rivera and suffered minor injuries. The facts and circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
