Highway Barrier

A woman was driving down a divided four-lane highway. As she negotiated a curve in the road, her car skidded on some material that was on the road. Her car crashed into the guardrail barrier which separated her lane from the lanes of oncoming cars. The barrier was defectively designed and it was insufficient to absorb the impact of a car travelling at 60 miles per hour, although the speed limit on the highway was 65 miles per hour. As a result the woman's car went through the barrier, hit an oncoming car head on, and she was killed.
